That's right, "We're Baaaack!!!" Grin

CB Performance Presents: The Dyno Session 2009 in So Cal

But this year will be off the hook as we move back to our roots.  This year's  event will take place where VW performance originated: Orange County, California.  This event is one you don't want to miss!  You think you've seen some high powered Volkswagens in your day?  Think again!  These cars will blow your mind with the power they are putting out.  Last time we put on the event, Eric Madson (in the Great 8 exhibition class) from Grand Junction, Colorado took the title of "The World's Most Powerful Volkswagen" with a mind blowing 753 Horsepower!

Will Eric repeat and take top honors with him back to Colorado?  Or will the top prize stay in So Cal this year?  I don't know, but one thing is for sure, it will be a shootout for all to see!  (If you missed the event in 2007, Click Here!)

And just to be safe to remove the "Orange County Correction Factor", we're bringing in our own dynamometer from outside the area.  (Actually, we just wanted to use a mobile chassis dyno so we could put on a great event!)  We're going to drag the dyno into Fullerton, California on Saturday, October 31st.  Rancho Performance Transaxles has graciously agreed to let us hold the event at their awesome new facility.

Please excuse the American Muscle, but I wanted to show you the mobile Dyno.

I'd like to thank Rick Tomlinson and CB Performance for once again being our title sponsor for the event!  We also would like to thank Sam Shackleford and Rancho Perfomance Transaxles for also renewing their sponsorship of our "Great 8" Class and housing our event.

Please check back often to see our most recent updates!  Mike Herbert and I will add them to this thread as more details become available.

See You in So Cal!

Hey Guys!  Thanks for the kind words!  No go tell your friends! Grin

We haven't made the application forms available yet.  We're gonna build a bit more hype first, update the site with the current cash payouts collected to this point, and then put the application on this thread.  That's why we have the "will be available" statement on the Dyno Session home page at this point.

THIS EVENT IS GOING TO BE HUGE!!!!!!!

Will Eric Madson repeat as The World's Most Powerful Volkswagen?
Will the Devil's Hot Rod be back and run another 666 peak HP number?
Who will make up the "Great 8" in 2009?
Which street cars will make up our classes?
Will we see a 200HP N/A Street Car?
Will anyone in the Forced Induction Street Class top Mike Scott's 515 HP number from 2007?

I don't know the answers to these questions as of yet, but it's going to be a blast finding out on October 31st! Cool

I'd like to update you on the sponsors for the classes that Mr. Herbert has worked so hard to obtain!

Rancho Performance Transaxles - Sponsor of the "Great 8"

LowBugget.com/VWTurbokits.com - Sponsor of the new "Pump Gas 91" Class

VW Paradise - Sponsor of the "Forced Induction" Class

Old Speed - Sponsor of the "Normally Aspirated" Class

Thank you SO MUCH to our sponsors!                    Everybody Say, "Thanks Mike!" for getting our sponsors! Grin

If you or your company is interested in donating to the prize pool for any of the classes, please contact Mike or myself!

Thanks!  Spread the Word!

Half of the "Great 8" are now confirmed!  Who will make up the rest of the Great 8?  Care to speculate?

We have an idea, but we're not telling... yet!  Grin

BUT, as soon as we can, Mike and I will be making some BIG announcements about the cash and prizes we've gathered to this point and what we will be giving away as prize money!

Again, if your company is interested in donating to our prize pool, please contact Mike or myself and let us know which class(es) you care to sponsor.

Thanks!

Mike and I just had a conversation and we are ready to announce the START of the payouts...  (because prize pool will continue to grow!)

World's Most Powerful Volkswagen!  (Top HP for the day)  - $1000

Forced Induction Class - (Includes Nitrous) - $400 & Growing!

Naturally Aspirated Class - $400 & Growing!

Pump Gas 91 Class - $400 & Growing!

So what does everybody think?  How should we pay out?  Winner take all?  Payout 1st and 2nd place only? or Payout to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place?

This is getting exciting!!!  Grin

We need your help for the final GREAT 8 spot!

We wanted Marty Staggs to put his altered on the dyno, but he won't be able to get the car on the dyno. Any suggestions on who we can get to fill that spot? Post up or contact Mike or I.

Thanks,

So we talked about what's available for those that are putting their cars into the competition, but what's in it for the spectators?

Well, in addition to being part of history and being there to witness, "The World's Largest Collection of VW Horsepower!" there will be a HUGE raffle with some AWESOME prizes!

As of today, we know of $2500 worth of great prizes!

California Import Parts - Fully Polished 5 Spoke Wheel set! - $600 Value!!!

BMD Pulleys - A Complete Serpentine Pulley Set! - $200 Value!!!

Engle Racing Cams - (2) of their BRAND NEW Camshaft kits - $300 Value!!!

DPR Machine - A Stroker Crankshaft! - $350 Value!!!

Motorsports Tulsa - Billet Aluminum Serpentine Pulley kit! - $200 Value!!!

So Cal Imports -An AC Industries Front Disk Brake Kit! - $300 Value!!!

Compu-tronix - A Complete DIS4 Distrubtor-less Electronic Ignition! - $400 Value!!!

These are the items we have as of right now, but more are to come!  T-shirts and parts from all your favorite VW Parts manufacturers, shops, and distributors!  Do you have a business that you'd like to be represented in the dyno session raffle?   It will be great exposure for your company!  Please contact Mike Herbert or myself to donate to the raffle, or just show up with your items the day of the event to the raffle table.

Be sure to get your Raffle Tickets!!!

Is that not enough for you?  We just signed Dyno Don Chamberlin to MC the event!

Our Artwork Rocks! Grin

Lemorris Harris hit this design perfectly yet again!  The design pays tribute to inaugural Dyno Session "top dog" Eric Madson that layed down 753 Mind-Blowing HorsePower!!!

A big thanks to all of our sponsors for their support!  Be sure to support the businesses that support us by giving back to the hobby!

See you all in So Cal!  (This Saturday October 31st!!!)

Shirt Prices and online sales at the German-Pride.com store will be available shortly!

Now I'm in Pahrump, NV... Home of legal prostitution, Roll Eyes but at least I sell Valtrex! Grin

Here's my latest update... I've been working like a dog so I can take tomorrow off to help set up at Rancho. I've been working all night to get the website ready for a live video stream for all of you out of town VW fanatics! The video stream will be hosted by both Dyno Don and myself.
This is a first for us with the streaming video, so please bear with us if you're experiencing issues. There will be no need to sign up for anything, just click the link I'm going to provide, and you'll see the program! We're real excited!
Lastly, with a couple of the guys in the great 8 breaking stuff at Drag day, there are now a few more spots available to Dyno your car! Get in touch with Mike at Rancho ASAP!
Thanks, and see everybody on Saturday!
