Unless your 34PICT3 carb is totally screwed up, you might consider rebuilding yours for the cheap price of a rebuild kit.  You're in So Cal, so finding a local shop with a rebuild kit in stock should be super easy.  If you can't find a kit locally CIP1.com has them for dirt cheap at only 16.95.
How do you know if your carb is worth rebuilding or not?  Take a screwdriver and totally remove some of your adjustment needles.  If the tips of these are marred up in anyway, someone has "bottomed them out" in the bore of the body of the carburetor.  That damage will permanently alter the adjustment needles ability to meter the flow of air or fuel through the passages of the carb.

The rebuild process might seem intimidating at first, if you've never done such a thing, but it really is straight forward.  Just following the simple instructions in the orange Robert Bentley manual.  (If you don't have one of these, you need to put this on your shopping list too! Wink )

Hope this helps!
