Leaking Oil in Las Vegas

« on: February 10, 2009, 11:59:51 PM »

This was a 'little' bit long, fairly tiring, and definitely involved alcohol. Just thought I'd go ahead and post it up here. I wanted to snap pics of each process, but I was charging my cameras battery when we did this, and believe me, the difference is night and day.

Before:

After:

Process was something like this:

-Pyramid Hefeweizen
-3M Rubbing Compound
-3M Rubbing Compound (yup, needed to really cut into the paint)
-Meguiars Clay system (shouldn't have any paint really come off on this step)
-Zymöl Cleaner wax
-Car Wash (by hand only with Zymöl Clear)
-Zymöl Carbon Wax

About 9 hours with help from a buddy. Car looks 8000% better and just 'feels' like a better car. Oh, been asked before, so the glass cleaner I use is Stoner's Invisible Glass (rinse and repeat for a mirror finish.)

Nice work!  See you CAN polish a turd! Grin

In all seriousness, that thing looks great!  If you want, we can run my autobody buffer over it and really make that thing shine!  I've got the 3M cutting and polishing materials too.
Nice work Dude! Grin

Thanks Scott.

Still a turd, for sure. I'd love to see how much further we can go with it. I'm still wanting to get the white off the sides, if possible. Maybe with graffiti remove in small areas? It'd certainly look better.
