I know this doesn't pertain to VW's, but how does a tranny break work?  I know that the V8 guys use them to stage their cars when they race.  I think I understand what they do, I just don't know how they work.

Tranny Break is real easy to accomplish. High HP, Sticky Tires, 4 grand clutch dumps does it every time  Grin Grin

Seriously, on a trans brake there is a solnoid that basically puts the transmission in reverse, when you have it in1st. Plan and simple it will lock up the tranny from going either forward or revervse. Hope this make some sort of sense.

Thanks for the explaination.  I knew what they did, I just had no clue as to how they work.  Are they available for maunal transmissions too?

Unforunately no they are not avail for a manual.
