I've been splurging like crazy for new tools lately, so I thought I'd go ahead and post up some links that you folks might find useful (and cheap!). Not sure if anyone kept there eyes on tool sites or anything online during black friday, but I managed to score a 12-drawer, 26" crafts man ball bearing roll-away set for $303.
Figured I'd go ahead and post up some of the stuff i've come across that VW owners' tool boxes should probably have in 'em (maybe.)
Craftsman Magnetic Angle Finder - $5
Bore Gage Dial, Phase II - $52-77 depending on size (VERY high quality)
Alltrade Valve Adjustment tool - $13 (it works great)
For the last one . . . Long story, short. I've probably serviced/rebuilt about 6-7 dozen frame pullers around town in the last 4 years. I started using these to resurface the arm rotation surfaces on Chief EZ Liners for smoother arm rotation movements, and thought they were the greatest inventions. Ever. Being an amateur machinist, I find crazy amounts of use for these. Unfortunately, I don't have a compressor yet.
DynaBrade 14000 Dynafile - $383 (i know, but everyone would have a use for one at some point)
Granted, I've blown through my x-mas bonus (which I haven't even gotten yet) and then some on alot of other tools, but thought i'd pass along my findings for those that might be in search of something you'll need at some point.
