Greg requested a gallery and has started to upload pictures of his 56 Ragtop Beetle. Greg is a forum member (aka nitemair) from Canada and has started to build an album of his cars. Check it out in our gallery section, or click on the picture below. Be sure to check it often, as he is not finished loading his pictures! GREAT LOOKING CAR GREG! His link to the gallery is also: http://www.german-pride.com/gallery2/gallery2/v/vwprojects/stogren/Anybody else have a full photo documentation of their restoration or build up of their car? I'd love to have more members cars featured in our galleries! Scott Faivre

Thanks for the kind words! That is my Wilwood proportioning valve for the brakes. You can adjust front and rear bias as needed. Being that the VWs are light in the front, I can add a bit more bias to the rear for maximum stopping, and so the fronts don't lock up so quick.

2387cc, T3/T4 turbo, EFI all from CB Performance. Built by Pat Downs. 300hp on pump gas at about 14 lbs of boost. Read all the details in the January 2007 issue of HotVWs Best time is 12.28 at 105mph at 15lbs of boost, on pump gas. Lookin' for 11's next year.

Greg, Nice Work! I'd love to see that car in person! You ever bring that car to Atco, NJ or the Virgina Bug Outs? Andre

Andre: Used to do the Virgina shows with my old '68 but it always rained. Never been to Jersey. I am planning to make the trek to GA again in March for the Silver Dollar Showdown, maybe you can make it there? I also do the Milan show and was in Indy last year.

I hadn't heard of the GA show. That's quite a haul for me, and it's got 2 be a 2 day trip for you! When is it? Andre

Here's the link to the show in GA http://www.sevwa.com/events/silverdollar.htmWe did the haul last year in about 16 hours towing my buddy's super beetle. Weather for the drive was decent on the way down and great on the way back. May take longer this year as I hope to be pulling an enclosed trailer this time

Congratulations to Greg!!! I just saw that the January Hot VW's came out! I've been so busy with trying to get this site debugged, that the magazine is still sitting on my counter in the plastic wrap! It is a beautiful car! I went and looked into your gallery for the car, and I saw this picture: I was looking at that adapter on your oil sending hole on block for the stock oil pressure switch. Tell me if I'm correct... The T splits the oil pressure to your pressure switch, and then the oil line to lube up the turbo. From the turbo, you're running a return line back into the sump. Am I right? Scott Faivre

'nother question for you Greg...
I'm not running a turbo or anything, but my header is heating up my apron pretty well. So much so that it has started to "yellow" the paint. Are you seeing anything like that with the turbo that close to the apron?

Scott: Thanks for the compliments and awesome site. First question- yes that is exactly what that T does. Then there is about a 3/4" line from the turbo to the sump for the oil to drain. I tapped the remote filter holder for the stock oil pressure switch that lights up the idiot light in the speedo. As for your exhaust- I have heard of that happening but have never experienced it. What exhaust do you have? A buddy gave me a piece of material that reflects the heat and I only used that in a couple of places on my car, neither of which is the apron. Pat knew the car I was building and designed the header to keep the turbo as far away as possible from the apron. I don't know where my buddy got the cloth from, maybe someone on the CLF can help you out? Or wrap your header in that cloth they sell for just that. My headers have always been ceramic coated as well which may help.
