Hey I have to replace a ball joint on a 69 standard but the car is in afield in the middle of Montana. Does any one know if the ball joint press from Harbor frieght will work or do I need a special one. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Mark!  Thanks for posting up! Grin

Is your tool the pickle fork or the C Clamp press thingy?  Bring the "BFH" and have at it with the pickle fork, or bring an extension pipe to put over the C Clamp handle and twist it.

Let me know how it works out.  I think I need to replace the ball joints in my 66.

Take care,

That I can't tell you as I've never used their ball joint tools.  I'd say take the new ball joint into Harbor Freight and see how it fits in their adapters that come in the set.

Maybe one of the other members will step up and give you some advice if they've used them?

Hi, just saw your post, by now you probably have the bjs. replaced I ended up just pulling the arms off and having a local shop press them out and the new ones in cost around 65.00 for all 4 no hassels that way. Wink Wink

Good to know!  Thanks for the info, and WELCOME TO GP! Grin
What part of the country do you live in?  I'd like to know what the rates are in different areas of the country.

I lived in State College for 9 years!  I've been to many of the events at the Carlisle fairgrounds.  Good times!
