My 66's original sending unit is leaking from around the rubber boot that surrounds the lever mechanism.  Here in the USA, all we can get is Brazillian plastic fuel senders like the one shown above.

Does anyone know where to get an original METAL VW sending unit for these cars?  I'd even buy a good used one if you have one.  I have the plastic one now, but I don't like the fit of it.  The cable that goes to the fuel guage pops out of the sending unit if I hit a large bump in the road.

THANKS!
